The Kominsky Method | Netflix | Brilliant, thought provoking, well made comedy for adults.

Some friendships never get old, says the tagline and that is precisely what 'The Kominsky Method' is all about. Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin star in this story about a couple of senior citizens who are at an uncompromising crossroad that life threw at them at an age that can be considered to be 'old'. The friendship is beautiful, thought provoking and at the same time funny to the core. Just goes to remind that life is a thousand times easier if you have a funny bone in you irrespective of the situation you are in. I loved watching the series and am eagerly waiting for the season 2.

Bright | Netflix | An awesome idea, decently executed and opens up the avenue for a future franchise.

Will Smith & Joel Edgerton star in this modern day adaptation of a world where Orcs, Elves, Humans and fairies all live together. Each fighting their own demons and at the same time despising the other kinds to extreme ends. To add to the mix, there is a bit of magic and a possibility of a big bad monster as well.  Netflix must keep on experimenting and spending money and resources on stuff like these. The makers did a better job with Bright  when compared to Suicide Squad  and it was certainly on par with End of Watch. Will Smith stars as LAPD Officer Daryl Ward , who is back in duty after being shot by an Orc while his partner and first ever Orc to be part of the LAPD force Nick Jakoby (Joel Edgerton) was with him. Like almost all other mystical worlds this story too surrounds...

A brilliant ComDra and yet, not Everyone’s Cup of Tea : The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) – Netflix Original

My Take: Netflix strikes gold in a non-thriller genre, after a long time ! Adam Sandler used to be an actor that I liked long ago (okay, don't shoot me :) ) and yet, his presence in this Netflix original made me skeptical about spending valuable time on it. My curiosity on what the Meyerowitz family had to offer got the better of me largely due to the presence of  Dustin Hoffman (Harold) & Ben Stiller.(Mathew) in the cast and yet, it was Adam Sandler (Danny) who stole the show in the end.  It's not often that an ordinary, every day comedy/drama would hold your interest every frame of the movie and director Noah Baumbach did just that. The story is all about the fragile dynamics of a dis-joint family where a self-obsessed/needy father, played by Hoffman, reunites with his thre...
